Dr Dipannita Maria Bagh is a Senior Researcher in the Southeast Asia Studies Programme at the Gateway House, Mumbai. Earlier, she worked at the Institute of Human Rights and Democratic Governance (IHRDG), Spring University Myanmar, with dual roles as Editor since July 2023 and faculty member since September 2024. Dr Bagh also worked at the Netaji Institute for Asian Studies in Kolkata, and also on a year-long project of the Ministry of External Affairs to monitor developments in Bangladesh’s Chittagong district and their impact on Bangladesh’s 2018 general election. She completed her doctoral programme in Political Science at North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong. She holds an MPhil in Foreign Policy Studies and an MA in South and Southeast Asian Studies with specialisation in Peace Studies and Refugee Studies from the University of Calcutta.
