Dr P.V. Ramana is India's foremost expert on Naxalism and the Maoist movement. An alumni of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Dr Ramana has been undertaking research on internal security issues for over three decades, and has served at premier research institutions like Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), Observer Research Foundation (ORF), and so on. Besides numerous national and international publications, he has been part of many task forces, including those formed by the Central and various State governments, that studied various aspects of the Maoist movement.
