Professor Chintamani Mahapatra is a veteran foreign policy scholar who has devoted a lifetime to studying, teaching and researching Indian foreign policy and its relations with great powers, particularly in the Indo-Pacific. He has had a rich academic career and was a Professor of American Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) as well as its Rector. On retirement from JNU, he founded the Kalinga Institute of Indo-Pacific Studies and is its Chairperson.
